The Public Affairs Office (PAO) deepens communication and promotes the University’s culture and values to both the HKUST community and the public. We achieve this through numerous activities that build a sense of belonging to our University and the on-going development of HKUST core values. Our Office is also instrumental in providing impactful internal and external communication during major transitions and events.
PAO plays a significant role in facilitating relations and understanding between students, faculty and staff. We do so through regular gatherings involving senior administrators, students and faculty. We support special events that celebrate the achievements of the HKUST family, such as honors ceremonies, and coordinate the annual University Congregation. In special situations, we also help to manage communication with and assistance to students.
We manage a range of projects that reach out to the public and demonstrate the values and accomplishments of HKUST to the wider community. Examples include support for HKUST’s Information Day for prospective students, the Shaw Prize Lecture, and the University’s participation in the annual InnoCarnival.
